I came across a roof yesterday that was installed only a couple of months ago using staples and not 8d nails. Do they still allow staples to be used? If so, where can I find the building code requirement. The listing agent told me the roof was also not permitted which raised a couple of concerns already.
Not permitted. Likely did not renail deck would be my guess.

Not being permitted would be the problem right there. Just point out that the roof has been replaced without the proper permitting and most likely proper current practices. They need to consult the local building department for further guidance
