State Shreds Your 120 Reports After Scanning

I was on the phone today with the DBPR about my application. I asked the gentleman if they were running out of room in their office due to the onslaught of applications, specifically the 120 HI reports needed for Grandfathering. His reply:

"NO, WE SCAN THEM INTO THE SYSTEM, THEN SHRED THEM"

Not sure i believe that they scan every page (although I didn’t specifically ask if every page was scanned). If this is this case, why would they not accept them digitally? oooohh, I forgot about the surplus tax dollars that they need to spend for job security. Never mind.

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier/sensible to send the reports electronically? Less postage… no payroll for employees to scan, process, shred… Wait a miunute - what am I thinking? I was expecting Florida state government office to use logic…?
