Tie down inspection

Can someone give me the rundown for what a tie down inspection for mobile or manufactured home consists of? What is normal fee?
Thanks,
Doug

If doing it for an engineer all for do is take photos of the anchors, bases and skirting. And try to get a good count on the tiedowns with spacing.
Along with a pic of the mobile home seal. And run a tape to get the dimensions.
I’ve done many, its easy .

Normal fee is as much as you can get

Just joking I’ve never done one. Good luck.

I got a call to do one today.

$300… Take it or leave it, I really don’t care.

Thank you for the assistance.

Doug, make sure it’s not for Citizens. Here is a form from their site. I have only done 2 and priced them the same as a 4 point inspection, they don’t take all that long to do.

Thanks Glenn.

Doug,
I’m not able to find your contact information. Give me a call or email me direct and I will share with you what I’ve been doing.

Are you an engineer that can stap a doc claiming uplift calcs…

I have an engineering company that calls a few times a month to check tie downs. Take 5 pictures. Count the number. Record tag numbers. Half hour total even with driving. They pay $150 quick. Easy money.

You can find mobile home tie-down requirements on the website at www.flhsmv.gov](http://www.flhsmv.gov/)

Once our website is loaded, please click on the drop-down box marked Driving and you will see Mobile Homes. Click on Mobile Homes** **and you will find all the information regarding the Installation Program.

Got a call for a tie down inspect today. First time. Guess I better figure them out.
