I reviewed the InterNachi Article How Home Inspectors Can Upsell Mold Testing by Nick Gromicko, InterNACHI Founder and James McDonnell, PRO-LAB CEO.

Benefits of offering additional services like a mold inspection as an add-on service can create an additional income stream for your business. Home inspectors generally have a pretty good idea what they will face upon a cursory view of a given property. However, moving through the home, inspecting each system often reveals surprises. Stumbling upon a colony of organic growth (mold) requires the inspector to provide this revelation that the homeowner needs to be made aware. By obtaining a certificate to inspect and test for mold and other services, can boost the home inspectors potential revenue income. Additionally, taking a few extra minutes collecting samples organic growth or by inspecting a discovered well or septic system can build trust and respect for the inspector. Offering a wide range of services makes the inspector a valuable commodity.
