The course stated:

Factory-built or masonry fireplaces must be provided with an exterior air supply to assure proper fuel combustion unless the room is mechanically ventilated.

Normal masonry fireplaces require make up air from exterior of home???

After visiting the forum, close that tab or window to get back into the course and proceed.

Hi Ben,
The student material for chimney liners states that the total thickness should be 4". It says that since a brick is 3 5/8" this means the liner should be 5/8". That's 4 1/4". What's correct?
