partice board roof sheating?

First time I have ever seen particle board used as roof decking material…any concerns other than poor fire rating?

Its not particle board, I can’t think of the name of it for the life of me off the top of my head, but it is a structural panel designed to be roof decking and is used in situations just like in your pictures. It does turn to junk though once it get wet (or keeps getting wet) and is expensive as crap (like 100-200 bucks per sheet which I think is 28.5 inches by 10 feet and since its T&G a real pain to fix bad spots)

OSB

that’s the stuff I believe…I was a little off on the measurements but not on the price, trust me

Interesting. It’s definitely not OSB. I see lots of that. This is made up of glued particulates, not wafers. Kind of like cheap cabinets or office furniture.

It does appear to have the white almost vinyl like film as your product describes Mike.

It doesn’t always have that white vinyl film…when it doesn’t it has ( well my experience was with a 30+ yr old roof) an off white color and looked like painted particle board or sheetrock that had been painted without any skim coat
