Roof Inspections after a Wildfire

I’ve had a few calls for roof inspections post wildfire in the area (for standing homes). Some have said just for their own information, some have said their insurance is asking for it. Would you do the inspections or refer to roofing contractor? Is it worth the liability?

If you feel competent doing a roof inspection then why not? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see fire damage. Take the jobs and make money!!! That’s why you’re in this business. Right???

On the other hand, if you do post-fire inspections of roofs of homes that are no longer standing, it’s much easier to identify the cause of roof failure.
