Anyone have any ideas on what caused these stains on the roof? I have not seen them before, looks like spray paint…
Looks like brush marks from a failed attempt at cleaning off fungal growth.

Could also be from power washing seen it many times
Looks a lot like the old power washing trick. Shingles should never be power washed, it removes all of the granules and shortens the useful life of the roof.
Power washing makes the most sense.
