Use your template printed empty.

Go to the new documents page found in your dashboard panel. you’ll find what they are calling a checklist in the reporting forms section.

We have a print format setup for this purpose. Here are more detailed instructions for setting up a checklist / walk sheet in HomeGauge:

In HomeGauge you would go to File>Printing Options and under Style and Format you will see one called Walk Sheet. This will take your template and put it in the form of a walk sheet for those that want to scratch notes rather than use a device.
