I think it may be more helpful for the inspector's marketing than any actual value for the client.

I was around when the debacle occurred on this forum.

I haven't seen a "spinning" meter in a couple years. All the ones around here are digital. The spinning ones were much easier to use to detect a leak within the line. Not that I do it at a Home...

Possibly, since the house is over 100 years old. Oddly, the vent pipe doesn't look that old. The high efficiency furnace was installed in 2004.

I will recommend it should be plugged/capped.

Fresh Air Flapper?

Found this at today's inspection on gas furnace vent in basement. I'm not sure if the water heater used to be connected here, or if it's put there to help the booster fan. It's a flapper, so it opens...

Maybe not. I wound up in court for calling a very small crack a "normal, settlement crack".

Since I was right, it only cost me $6400 in attorney fees.

Now all cracks in ceilings or walls are...

Well, according to most sellers, if it worked that way for years, its not a defect and they dont have to fix it. Same for bonding neutral and ground in a sub panel

Last year i got my wife a compound mitre saw, complete with stand. She didnt seem to appreciate it much. So this year, she's getting nothing, not even a sappy poem!
