Re: Do you believe what you see

At 80x60 how can they say that camera took that or any of the photos they use in their C2 advertising? Talk about false advertising.

Re: Attic wiring??

So no worries about possibly the wiring itself getting hot? Overloaded? Just throwing that out there. :)

Re: HemaVision: Smart thermal imaging with computer vision

I agree with Paul. Not many slow parts that become an issue. I think the only improvement I would like to see would be WiFi transfer of images. Which I'm sure newer IR imagers may have, at least the...

Re: Looking for Inspection order sheets

I use something similar to Kevin's. It's not that I don't know what questions to ask. For me it's about keeping track of any information about the house and client I can get. It makes for good future...

Re: Garage - Yes or No

Permitted finished basements that have a drop ceiling are proper and adequate for safety reasons. I don't see this conversion (permitted or not) any differently. The space is no longer set up for...

Re: $80 telescoping ladder

After falling off a ladder last August and breaking my arm and shattering my elbow, a ladder is the last thing I would buy on the cheap.

Re: In what order do you inspect?

In this order:

Interior first for me.

Kitchen and Bathroom(s) always first. Running plenty of water in every sink, tub, toilet and shower. By doing this first I will likely catch leaks/water...

Re: Stains at vents/roof

I see the neighbors house has the same "ghosting" on the upper most vent. No stains on the other vents though. Lower vents could possibly be a direct vent from a bathroom or kitchen exhaust = no...

Re: Holes in stucco/EIFS

This is an 8 year old house. So there's no getting anyone in trouble. Been foreclosed on twice in those 8 years. Sat empty for almost the last 2 years.

I hate EIFS, I see it and cringe. There is...

Holes in stucco/EIFS

Has anyone seen the critter that seems to love to make holes in EIFS and pick at the insulation board. Woodpecker was a thought, but 1. it's not wood and 2. there's no bugs in there for them to feast...

I just had a scenario last week with a client wanting a quote on an inspection. I went through my "speal" on why to choose me and gave them the quote of $400. I got a follow up email 2 days later...

Re: Seeing light from the Attic ...but no moisture intrusion. Question.

I would be scared to put anything in the report about "seeing the light", if I didn't get in the attic to confirm where it's coming from. In a dark attic and properly vented (soffits,ridges,gables)...
