Re: New Heat Pump Undersized

All that is based on average per square footage. Did you measure the size and number of windows and doors? Insulation? Air leakage? A large 60 year old home used to have a 100K btu furnace. ...

Re: New built Home Inspection

Re: Nachi website REAL SLOW NICK CHRIS

About the only activity that takes place here is garbage political **** and posts in the NFE and posts on which states have accepted nachi education classes. Little else of value. Of course if you...

Re: Nachi website REAL SLOW NICK CHRIS

Well Nick. 2 weeks from your post would have been by the end of the year. Now we are a couple days short of March and this old forum is still operating and is as slow as can be. So how about...

Re: where is the ethical line between contractor and inspector

Well first, it is from the Code of Ethics, not the Standards of Practice.

And the sentence you left out at the end is also important.

Re: where is the ethical line between contractor and inspector

Wrong. If you inspected the house, you cannot work on the house for 1 year unless it is an item that is not included in the Standards of Practice. So you could perform pest control or radon...

Re: Ledger Board Question

First rule of thumb. Never use the InterNACHI training as your basis for facts or figures. Methodology maybe, but not the actual numbers. Some of the training modules are old and have not kept up...

Re: Pergola - external structure attached to house

Pergolas are free standing structures and do not rely on anything else for support. They may have added an attachment to the home for no reason or it could have been added for some minor stability...

Re: Good News for California Inspectors

It will be interesting since the court denied that Inspectors could use a "lack of privity" as a defense and could not create that defense through contractual language. There is no seeming defense...

Re: Furnace source air requirements

Re: InterNACHI is Now Nationally Accredited by the U.S. Department of Education

It is puffery, pure and simple. Trying to compare a new, online school with the likes of Havard or Yale is so far out of being comparative it becomes a joke. You notice he didn't compare it to a...

Re: InterNACHI is Now Nationally Accredited by the U.S. Department of Education

OK, so what does this mean? Does this mean that if you complete the "course", you have an AA degree? or a BA degree? Exactly what type of credential does completing the course give one?
