tie-bar vs ground wire

Any concern with the neutral tie-bar being so close to the ground wire in a subpanel?

Re: Hot water won't drain

Ok, ok. Convincing on the sink with the small holes, not so much on the sink with the standard pop-up drain. Thanks.

Re: Hot water won't drain

Thanks Jeff, sounds reasonable, but not really convinced. One sink had the small holes in the drain cover, the other had a regular pop-up. Irregular situation, so I am curious.

Hot water won't drain

I've been inspecting for almost 18 years and haven't seen this. Today I did see it in a multi million dollar condo. It happened in 2 of 4 bath sinks. Cold drains great, runs right down. Hot stops...

What takes so long?

Looking for reasons why some gas heating units take a long time to fire up after testing the disconnect & pressure switch? Some seem to take between 1-4 minutes. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Photoelectric sensors

That's odd. They're wired and working properly. No provisional wiring at the proper locations.

Photoelectric sensors

What would the reason be for mounting vehicle door opener photoelectric sensors near the ceiling?

Re: GFCI

So the black wire being the way it is says that the breaker is not servicing anything and its a way of showing the breaker to be abandoned...

Help me understand

The first photo shows two 60 amp breakers (not labeled) at the top of the service panel. The second photo shows where the wires from those breakers go at the bottom of the panel: one from each...

GFCI

The wiring looks amiss on this GFCI breaker. It is not labeled so I don't know what it is intended to protect and none of the outlets in the home tripped it.

Thanks, Larry, but the units are not high efficiency and they are the same age of the home - '97.

Tie bar

No tie bar visible in service panel. Center bar in second photo appears to be all plastic serving as a standoff. Is this a problem? Ground bus is grounded to conduit ring.

Re: Marks on breaker

Arcing may not be it, since it is on plastic. It might be a black antioxidant paste, even though the paste on the wires is gray. Thanks.

Any idea what could cause these marks on this main breaker? Is it significant?
