Floor Joists Just sitting there.

All the floor joist are notched and sitting on top of a 1"x2" piece of wood that is attached to the center support. Some of the beams are toenailed to the center support but some are not.

Question White powder on Vent Piping

Came across this at an inspection.
The galvanized vent pipe from the furnace has a white power on it.
My guess is the temperature of the furnace is too high. Natural Gas to the furnace was turned...

PVC Hose for Drainage?

Came across this today.
Bathroom sink had 1.25/1.5 inch reinforced PVC hose to connect the sink drain pipe to the P-trap.
The bottom of the hose is constricted down to about .5-.75" in diameter....

I inspected a 4 unit building and on each of the steam boilers there was rust around this part.

The tank is in the middle of the hot water exiting the boiler to the start of the hot water heat loop.

The expansion tank is on the output line of the furnace.
Does that make a difference?

I have disclaimers in my report right up front in big bold red letters that I do not test smoke or CO2 units because it is the responsibility of the current owner to call the local fire department...

This section of plumbing hardware is dripping.
This is part of a well water assembly. It is threaded on the inside.

Is it a bleed valve?
