Re: Level II Inspection with Flir C2

I'm so tired of this conversation…

But here goes anyway. Thermal imaging is not just another tool, it's a complete different profession.

It cannot identify...

Re: Electric wires coated

It is not up to you to predict the future. It is up to you to report what you find at the time of the inspection. Anything else is an opinion or assumption which you should keep away from as far as...

Re: Mold within crawlspace being challenged

This is a for sale by owner (I noted after the post).

Buyers tend to be more dependent upon you in these circumstances. Caution should always be utilized.

I try to be more helpful to the client...

Re: Mold within crawlspace being challenged

The OP did not ask about how to write an inspection report.. This may be "apparent mold" to you but for the sake of conversation it is mold.

"It's only"... Plays down the situation and is more of...

Good job, with a good follow-up!
This is how you do it folks. The Thermal Camera is only as good as your investigative technique.

Re: Found with thermal

Compressed insulation (observed and verified) increased density which increases thermal conductance. It is summertime in Texas!

Re: Fun with thermal

A moisture meter (all of which measure density or conductivity) are also imperfect in measuring moisture.

You need to know how it use it. They are easier to use than TI when you don't know...

Re: A/C design

In my area if I have a 2K sq ft home with a 2 ton unit it will make me take a serious look at why that was installed

So what do you charge for a serious look? And what do you do?

There is no power to the unit from the transformer.

Find the wire that goes to the transformer and put it in the middle.
