Re: GFCI, only built in tester trips

The Ideal 61-501 is a very common Receptacle/GFCI Tester that many HI's use. Has everyone that uses it read GFCI Testing steps 3 & 4 (especially 3) of the instructions. Comports well with what the...

Re: Inspector Advisory Council update.

Here is the Proposed Definition revision. I didn't hear the discussion at the 4/9 IAC meeting so I can't put it in context. Maybe John can.

Re: InterNACHI members in Texas can do sewer scope inspections without a plumbers lic

Then it would make more sense that you, as a trade organization, clearly develop a position and "argue" it to the TSBPE and get their agreement before encouraging Texas inspectors to blindly go forth...

Re: What version of NEC is the minimum standard with no AHJ

That's correct. Since you are doing a phase inspection then the home was likely started in 2017 but even if it were started in 2018 you should be inspecting to the 2017 NEC.

Tony, why don't you simply ask one of your many more experienced co-workers. I bet Billy knows the answer to your question.

Re: PORCH (formerly ISN) is going too far

This is an excellent example of the Law of Unintended Consequences. Many inspectors balked at ancillary offers to clients that were Opt-Out, i.e. required the client to decline the service only after...

Extreme TREC penalty

There are several recent threads regarding TREC and disciplinary actions, ie. leaving an oven on, E&O insurance, use of photos, etc. Here's a very recent case where an inspector failed to notify TREC...

Re: Cut studs on new construction

I see how the answer to this question can be interpreted both ways. Apparently the NEC is silent on the distance when referring to a notch but clearly states 1 1/4" for holes therefore it can be...

Re: InterNACHI smacks HomeSafe, Seddon with Federal Racketeering Lawsuit.

Any update on this RICO suit? Surely it wasn't dismissed was it? Not enough info from this court update to tell for sure.

Re: InterNACHI continues to fight for inspectors in Homesafe infrared litigation.

Apparently that motion to unseal relevant portions of the deposition was unsuccessful. Now, after 2.5 years of endless motions and legal wrangling it appears that the HomeSafe -vs- InterNACHI breach...
