Reading and Writing Assignment from Articles: Aluminum wiring used in homes from 1965-1973 can often represent a fire risk for homeowners. These wiring systems must be evaluated and repaired by a certified electrician if there is sufficient evidence that it may cause a serious problem. This is most often the case with this kind of wiring as it will come lose from outlets, fixtures

    Hi Ben,
I had a few questions for you today. I am getting ready to take my National Home Inspection Exam this Thursday and Im having some trouble finding the right answers for these particular questions.
    1. What is the curb height fir skylight on 3:12 roof?

    2. What does it mean when two 1 1/2" pipes are sticking up outside the house?

    3. Gas piping vented to the exterior should be painted, sleeved, or angled?

    4. Whats the first thing to observe when inspecting a sprinkler system?

    Ben
I have been following your monthly videos and purchased Conquer-Marketing & Business Success for Inspectors, and How to Run a Successful Home Inspection Business and need your opinion.
I am listening to another author on marketing. The question that I have is, you have stated many times that you took a lot of pictures during your inspections. How many pictures did you include in your report? In my background as a federal building inspector, the more pictures that you included in the report the better. The author that I am listening to states that if you have more than 18 pictures total in your report you have too many. He also states that the report should not be any longer than 20 pages. I am having a hard time accepting this limited number of pictures and pages.

getting a great opportunity for working with a rental repair company, they want me to some rental property inspections. Less I believe involved but I need to find out how, or if there is a class of rental property compliance course. Live in grand rapids mi. If you could point me in the right direction to go to get this going. Been laid off for 4 months, need to get this done and making money to pay the bills.

    thank you

Ben I just want go make sure I am able to perform wind mitigation inspections. I will have my state home inspectors license next week and took the interNACHI "how to perform wind mitigation inspections" . Is this all I need? Nothing seems to give me a direct answer.

    Thanks
    John K
