How to Become a Licensed Home Inspector in New Mexico

Home Inspector Licensing

All license applicants are required to complete the state application, submit fingerprints, and proof of inspector insurance. There are three ways to attain a home inspector license in New Mexico. Insurance for Home Inspectors

Continuing Education (online & free for members)

According to the new rule, as a condition of license renewal, a home inspector licensee shall complete at least 60 hours of board-approved Continuing Education (CE) that is related to the practice of home inspection during each three-year license period as outlined in 16.66.4.8 NMAC. Radon Tester Certification in New Mexico

      
Although New Mexico does not regulate individuals who perform radon testing, measurement or mitigation, the New Mexico Environment Department recommends hiring a Certified Radon Tester who has completed a radon measurement training certification course approved by AARST-NRPP or NRSB.  Visit the New Mexico website for details. 


NRPP:
InterNACHI's free, online "Radon Measurement Professional Initial Training Course" is AARST-NRPP- approved for both initial certification and Continuing Education. To complete all components of the NRPP Radon Certification, please visit their site for more information.   


NRSB:
