What is a Home Inspection?

A home inspection is a professional, objective, visual examination of the conditions of a house. Buyers, sellers, and real estate agents view the inspection as means to gather valuable information of a house. During the inspection, Tim will inspect the exterior, the roof, plumbing throughout the house, windows, installed HVAC systems, chimneys / fireplaces, foundations, attics, water heaters, electrical panels and much more! Tim will explain what he is inspecting and then detail the findings of each particular component of the house. At the end of the inspection, Tim will provide a verbal summary and will answer any remaining questions. Shortly after the inspection, an electronic (.pdf) inspection report will be sent via email to the client.

Have you tested your home for RADON?

  • RADON is the #1 cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.
  • A smoker who is also exposed to RADON has an even higher risk of developing lung cancer.
  • Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from RADON exposure.
  • If your home has RADON, it can be fixed through mitigation.

Radon Testing

Radon gas is a naturally occurring, odorless, tasteless carcinogen (cancer causing) gas. The EPA estimates that about 21,000 people die each year from radon related lung cancer. Radon gas is common in Wisconsin and can be detected using the proper equipment. Triple B Home Inspection, LLC uses Sun Nuclear electronic monitoring devices (model 1028). Since radon levels constantly fluctuate, radon tests require a minimum of 48 hours before accurate results can be determined. More information on radon gas can be found at www.epa.gov/radon and www.cdc.gov/radon.

Why Triple B Home Inspection, LLC?

All home inspectors are different. The biggest limitations for a home inspector are commonly proper tools and experience. Tim believes in investing back into himself and the business. He is constantly taking additional training courses and staying on top of the latest in inspection tools. He has also inspected thousands of houses that range widely in size, age, and construction. Tim has inspected houses built in the mid-1840’s, log houses, architecturally one-of-a-kind houses, lake properties, earth houses, and much more. The experience he has is rare to find.

Here at Triple B Home Inspection, we constantly invest back into the business to better service our clients’ needs. Some of the tools commonly used (but not limited to) in our inspections include a combustible gas detector, moisture meters, a laser level, a thermal camera, multiple electrical testers, high powered flashlights, snake cameras, and a variety of ladders to access the most difficult of places to inspect. We are also a member of the world’s leading association for home inspectors – InterNachi.

Triple B Home Inspection, LLC provides thorough, educated, and honest home inspections. At the inspection, Tim explains the findings to the client and then emails the written report within hours after leaving the house. Detailed reports include individual pages addressing each area of the house, a summary page, and several pages of pictures. The reports provided by Triple B Home Inspection, LLC are easy to read and are not littered with “filler” material. The report you receive will be 100% specific to the house inspected.

Why Should I Get a Home Inspection?

Buying a house is often the largest purchase a person or couple will make in their lifetime. It is important to have that house inspected. The inspector will methodically inspect the house and report the findings along the way. While inspecting, Tim enters places that are usually not seen during the buyer’s previous trips to the house. Tim often finds common problems associated with component’s age and / or installation. Sometimes Tim finds issues with the house that may require substantial cost to repair or replace. During the inspection, Tim will report conditions of the components and how to properly care for and maintain those components. The home inspection will give the client information that will assist them in making an educated purchase of that house. The inspection also gives the client the knowledge of how to care the house and its components moving forward.
