
Windows & Doors Inspection Guide
This guide for the House of Horrors® in Boulder, Colorado, is currently being produced for self-guided tours.

Observation

Top mounting nail flange should be secured to the window header.
Observation

Jack stud next to the window is cracked, does not reach the header to provide support and is not installed flush with the king stud.
Observation

Window is installed in the Fireplace chase.
Observation

Top mounting nail flange should be secured to the window header.

Window screen is not installed in the track.
Observation

Exterior entry door is missing the header (above the door), cripple studs (above the missing header), King stud (on one side).

Observation

Jamb is separated at the top corner.
Observation

Jack stud missing on the left side of the door.
Observation

Window framing is missing the king stud (on one side).
Observation

Window frame is missing the jack stud (on one side). Corner metal bracket is not an acceptable replacement of the Jack stud.
Observation

Exterior door is not fully inserted and secured in the rough opening.
Observation

Brick molding on the door is separating at the top left hand corner.
Observation

Window caulking is missing.
Observation

Backer rod and Sealant is missing between the stone and window.
