In this three-hour training, students will learn about the latest means for enhancing a building’s wind mitigation features, according to Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) standards. Participants will also learn how to properly complete the Office of Insurance Regulation’s Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form (#OIR-B1-1802).


This training will cover the four major systems of the home: the electrical, HVAC, roof covering, and plumbing. It’s designed to help students identify a home’s deficiencies and safety issues, and teach them how to document their findings. The training will also go over techniques for performing 4-Point and Roof Certification Inspections, including how to fill out the latest 4-Point and Roof Certification Inspection forms.


This training will cover how to properly inspect a roof’s shingle installation and flashing, based on the methods recommended by the Florida Building Code (FBC) and National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). We’ll also review roof slope, service life expectancy, and safety protocols, including proper ladder use.

About the Instructor

Certified Master Inspector® Glenn Stephens is President of G. Stephens & Assoc., Inc., and is a native of Florida's West Coast. He's a licensed home inspector, licensed roofing contracting, and licensed residential builder. His company is a state provider of Continuing Education for contractors and home inspectors. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later earned his degree in Civil Engineering Drafting & Design. Glenn worked for Sarasota County and the City of Sarasota, where he taught surveying and mapping. In 2003, he designed and built his own home. Glenn is also a Registered Professional Inspector with the Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI), an ACI® of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), a member of the National Roofing Contractors of America (NRCA), and a proud member of the Inspector Brotherhood.
