Professional Estate Planning for Colorado InterNACHI Members

InterNACHI has negotiated an agreement that will enable its Colorado members to receive first-rate estate planning advice and documents for a fee that is significantly less than the amount lawyers usually charge for comparable work.

The Boulder law firm that serves as InterNACHI’s General Counsel, The Cohen Law Group, P.C., has designed a program that will allow InterNACHI members (and their spouses) to obtain a Will, a Declaration and Medical Power of Attorney (“Living Will”), and a Durable General Power of Attorney, for $400.00 per person or $600.00 per couple.

            The program works like this:
  1. Interested members should send an email to mailto:info@cohenslaw.com and put “InterNACHI Estate Planning” in the subject line.
  2. The law firm will email you two documents free of charge – an Estate Planning Questionnaire and an easy to understand explanation of basic estate planning in a Question and Answer format.
  3. Members who wish to move forward will complete the questionnaire and email it back to The Cohen Law Group or return it to the firm by snail mail.  At that time the member must make payment to the firm by check or credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
  4. Upon receipt of the completed questionnaire and payment, The Cohen Law Group will prepare a DRAFT set of documents for you and your spouse, and will email those to you.  After you have reviewed the documents, you will contact the firm and arrange a time to discuss them in person or by telephone with one of the attorneys.  The attorney will answer any questions you have and may make suggestions to you.  This process will be repeated, if necessary, until you are satisfied with the final documents.
  5. Once the documents have been finalized, you may arrange at time to execute them in person at the law firm’s Boulder office.  If you don’t live in the Boulder area, the firm will send you instructions on how to execute the documents.  Execution of the documents will require the presence of two unrelated witnesses AND a notary public.
If for some reason your situation appears so unusual that The Cohen Law Group does not believe it will be able to provide these services for the stated price, they will tell you that and you will be under no obligation.  This might be necessary, for example, if your situation appears unusually complicated or presents complex tax issues that usually only affect the very wealthy.
