InterNACHI launches free online education.

The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) launches FREE member On-line Education

InterNACHI Education today launched the first part of its on-line home inspector education program.  The initial published course concentrates on the InterNACHI Standards of Practice and how they should implemented.  There are several non-scoring quizzes built into the system which allow the student to evaluate their understanding of the material presented.  Many of the questions written for this course have been added to the SOP exam database, which is the final exam for this course (its completion is an existing membership requirement).
 
This project has been completed entirely in-house at InterNACHI after extensive development by Chris Morrell (InterNACHI’s Director of Information Technology) and Gerry Beaumont (Director of Education).  Various members of InterNACHI's Education Committee have helped with development and proof reading of the final product.

Gerry said “Chris and I looked long and hard at using propriety software to complete this project, but felt that we could develop a system that would both better suit our members and the home inspection industry if we built it ourselves….. Chris has done us a fantastic job as usual”.

All pages of the courses feature both images that can be opened in a new window for clearer viewing and embedded text to explain what the student is looking at.   Whilst this is not too critical in the initial course, it will be of major importance in forthcoming technical classes which will be released over the coming months.   Future courses will cover topics such as, roofing, structure, electrics, HVAC, plumbing, attics & insulation, exteriors, interiors and environmental issues.  Upon pasing the final exam the student can print out a certificate of completion which is auto generated in their own name.

All courses will count towards InterNACHI member’s continuing education, and InterNACHI will be applying (to certain states that accept on-line education) for ratification of their acceptance of our many educational products.  Our system automatically records member completion in InterNACHI's online continuing education log.
