David Labrie joined InterNACHI® and authorized InterNACHI® to charge his credit card. After InterNACHI® charged his credit card, he contacted InterNACHI® and claimed that InterNACHI® had charged his card without his authorization, despite InterNACHI's billing system making it technically impossible to charge a credit card without authorization. InterNACHI® immediately credited his card in full and cancelled his membership.
Mr. Labrie then went on at least one public website known as "Ripoff Report" and falsely claimed that InterNACHI® charged his card without authorization. InterNACHI® handles tens of thousands of credit card transactions a month and has never been publicly accused of charging a credit card without authorization, till now. Repeated attempts to have the libel deleted have failed, so InterNACHI® filed this lawsuit to protect its good reputation.
