Nick also serves as executive director of the Master Inspector Certification Board, which awards qualified property inspectors the title of Certified Master Inspector®, the industry’s highest professional designation.
As part of his philanthropic efforts, Nick founded Cozy Coats for Kids, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Cozy Coats for Kids purchases brand-new winter coats that children have picked out for themselves, with the intention of bolstering their confidence and wellness. The program raises money through donations from professionals in the inspection industry and related sectors throughout the United States and Canada.
In 2016, Nick fulfilled his decade-long goal of creating the ultimate education tool when he opened the House of Horrors®
— the only training facility of its kind — at InterNACHI® Headquarters in Boulder. The House of Horrors® is a full-size house with a thousand defects purposely built in. This unique structure permits hands-on, accredited training for new and veteran inspectors, held for one week every month, as well live tours and events for real estate professionals and others interested in the home inspection process. The following year, a second House of Horrors® was opened in Weston, Florida
In 2017, Nick launched BizVelop.com, a
free online resource for home inspectors needing help with gauging where their
business is now in order to take it to the next level.
