InterNACHI® Acquires SPREI and Its Content: Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

InterNACHI® Acquires SPREI and All of Its Content

BOULDER, Colo. (Jan. 8, 2020) – InterNACHI® is proud to announce that it has purchased the Society of Professional Real Estate Inspectors Association, along with the full rights to all of its content, which now becomes the intellectual property of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

InterNACHI® Founder Nick Gromicko initiated negotiations with SPREI Founder Joe Scaduto, who recently turned 85, and whose longstanding career as a home inspector and industry leader culminated in “The Home Inspector’s Bible” – the definitive book for home inspectors, which he co-authored in 1993 with his son, Michael.  One of the very first home inspector associations in the world, SPREI was founded in the early 1970s and had its headquarters in Massachusetts.

Says Gromicko, “I have admired Joe Scaduto for a long time; he was part of the reason I got into this business. His straightforward approach to home inspections and the various issues that can spring up around them – and clients – has provided a role model for me through the years about how to study and respond with professionalism.”

InterNACHI® plans to digitize all of SPREI’s content, including “The Home Inspector’s Bible,” as well as hundreds of other books and articles, to make them available to members for free.

“Joe is finally ready to retire, but not before offering his consultation services to all New England InterNACHI® members for free,” says Gromicko. “His wisdom, accumulated over decades of experience, along with the fruits of his long and respected career will live on through InterNACHI®, and that’s what I call a win-win.”
