House of Horrors

Check out pictures of the InterNACHI University complex that will contain the House of Horrors.

InterNACHI University has been built out, and we're cleaning up after construction.

The complex will also house the House of Horrors, a complete house with thousands of defects, constructed inside a two-story commercial building.

New Illustration Added to Inspection Gallery

We've recently added to InterNACHI's Inspection Gallery a new illustration about sealing air leakage areas related to electrical components.

Members can use the illustrations in the gallery for educational purposes, for presentation purposes, on their websites, and in their inspection reports.

Electricity 101: Understanding the Service Panel

Many homeowners who are unfamiliar with construction and wiring are timid when it comes to electrical work. It makes perfect sense to have a healthy respect for electricity--it can be dangerous if you don't understand it.

To give you confidence and a little knowledge to help you discuss electrical problems with an electrician, let's explore how the service panel (or panel box) controls your home's electrical system.

3-Minute Excerpt of "Climate Change & Home Inspectors"

In this video, we'll learn about climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and how home energy inspections are good for our homes and for our planet.

Because our homes and buildings are responsible for a large proportion of greenhouse gas emissions, climate change deserves special consideration by all homeowners.

A home that leaks energy costs a lot of money to operate. How do you stop it from leaking and wasting energy? It starts with a certified Home Energy Inspection.

A Home Energy Inspection involves a Certified Professional Inspector checking the systems and components of the home to find out where it could be more energy-efficient.

The end goal is to save energy, save money, and make the house more comfortable.

Watch the entire 30-minute video, "Climate Change and Home Inspectors."
