After successful completion of this online video course, the student will be able to use ladders properly and safely.
 
After successful completion of this course, the student shall be able recognize those conditions which can lead to personal injury. This course shall teach general safety guidelines for such situations.  It also provides basic information and useful tips for operating a safe and professional home inspection business.
 
After successful completion of this online video training course, the student will be able to perform a residential roof inspection and recognize general roof defects.
 
This course teaches the inspector to perform the roof portion of a home inspection.  It includes a review of nearly all types of residential roofs.
 
The goal of this course is to teach inspectors how to inspect the roof-covering system of a home and identify roof defects from manufacturing, installation, natural weathering, and wind and hail damage.
 
 
After successful completion of this video course, the student shall be able to perform a wind & hail inspection of a residential property. The student will also learn best practices and procedures as an asphalt shingle roof and its gutter/downspout system, severely damaged by hail, are torn off and replaced.
 

After successful completion of this video course, the student shall be able to properly inspect and evaluate wind and hail damage on roof coverings and other property components.  The audience for this course includes property inspectors, independent adjusters, maintenance personnel, and roofing professionals.

 

After successful completion of this video course, the student shall be able to inspect a roof covering.  The student will be able to verify (i) the installation of the roof covering and underlayment follows common building practices or the general recommendations of most roof covering manufacturers; and (ii) the installation is such that water intrusion will be prevented.
 

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have a good working knowledge of the inspection of asphalt shingle roofs, including identification of the different types, performance and aging characteristics, common defects, and wind and hail damage.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have a good working knowledge of the inspection of tile roofs, including identification of the different types, performance and aging characteristics, common defects, and wind and hail damage.
 
Upon successful completion of this course, the student shall learn how to inspect metal roofs, recognize and identify defects and damage, determine the sources of those problems, and to make good recommendations.
 
After successful completion of this course, the student shall be able to better serve their clients by providing great customer service and using effective communication.  Clients, new and existing, will benefit from the student taking this course.  Clients will come away from their business transaction with the student feeling that they've treated them fairly and professionally, and that student sincerely appreciate their business.
 
After successfully completing this online video training course, the student will know the proper health and safety practices while working at the exterior of a property, including using the required safety devices and personal protective safety equipment, and notifying a supervisor immediately of unsafe conditions/acts, accidents, and injuries.
 
The course objective is to prepare contractors and property inspectors to use lead-safe work practices to prevent the creation of lead hazards during renovation, repair and painting work in pre-1978 housing and child-occupied facilities.
 
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to inspect slate roofs, including identifying defects and damage, determining the sources of those problems, and making good recommendations.
 

Inspection Articles 

Although these articles were written primarily for home inspectors, the criteria used to evaluate roofs is also relevant for insurance and roofing industry professionals -- both of whom we worked with closely in developing this series -- to determine functional versus cosmetic damage, and whether damage was caused by wind, hail, weathering, improper installation, or manufacturing defects.
