Inspection Defect Flashcards
Welcome to interNACHI's Virtual Inspection Defect Flashcards.
This online tool allows you to observe, attempt to identify, and report on defects found during an inspection. It is a fun way to learn by experiencing issues you might one day discover on an actual inspection.
When looking at a virtual flashcard, you will see a photo of an issue or defect (which you can zoom in and out on) and a question about that defect, followed by a multiple choice list of potential answers. To reveal the correct answer, click on the blue "View Back of Card" button beneath the multiple choice answers.
The back of the card will also provide you with an explanation, and a suggested reporting narrative that you can use in your inspection reports. The narratives are drawn from InterNACHI's Inspection Narrative Library.
To move from one card to another, use the blue arrow icons on either side of your screen. These flashcards will be shuffled to provide you with a more comprehensive learning experience. When a blue arrow turns from dark blue to light blue, it means you have reached the bottom or the top of the virtual flashcard deck.
At the very bottom of your screen you might notice the complete list of flashcards in the deck. You can use this list to jump to a specific flashcard if you wish.
Beneath that list, you might notice a green "Submit Your Own Flash Cards" button. This allows InterNACHI members to submit flashcards of their own creation. After entering the photo and text of your own flashcard, the bottom of the page will prompt you to "save" your entry. Upon approval your flashcard will join the deck and you will be credited.
