Full Basement

A full basement creates an accessible space between the ground and the bottom of the first floor of a home. Full basements are popular
predominantly in cold climates where the footer needs to be below the frost line. This illustration shows a one-story house with a
basement. The space below the first floor is the basement, and the basement is mostly below the ground surface. Such a house will
typically have the HVAC system, hot water source, main electrical panel, and laundry appliances located in the basement. The foundation
walls are supported by footers or footings.
