Thermal Heat Bridge
A thermal heat bridge is an area or building component that has higher thermal conductivity than the surrounding materials, creating a path of least resistance for heat transfer. The illustration shows a wood stud in a building's thermal envelope that is more conductive than the fiberglass insulation surrounding it.
