Sample Templates: Operating Agreements for Home Inspection LLCs

Whether you've formed a new company or are expanding into a multi-inspector firm, it's vital that you spell out your company's makeup and obligations in an operating agreement.

Even as a sole proprietorship, it's important to keep your personal assets separate and protected from the assets and liabilities of your business.  Otherwise, if you're sued in the course of your work as a home inspector, your personal assets could be compromised.

Below are sample templates (in Word.docx format) that you can download and customize to fit your company's specific needs.

As always, consult with your own legal and/or tax professional to guide you through the process to make sure that you're in compliance with your state's laws.
