Want to learn how residential electrical service has evolved? From knob-and-tube wiring with fuses to today's standard 200-amp Square D panel, you'll see examples of the different types of wiring used and the common defects you'll find in homes at the Pennsylvania House of Horrors®.

Follow the instructors as they perform inspections of mock-up panels and components. After completing this training, you'll be able to inspect a typical electrical panel out in the field and identify common electrical violations, defects, and concerns.

During this 1-day class, you will learn how to perform an inspection of the plumbing system of a home. The class covers a review of water leaks, inadequate water supplies, water contamination, and incorrect installations of components. You'll inspect the various components of the plumbing system within the House of Horrors®. You will also identify components of the plumbing system and learn how to describe these defects to clients.

2-Day Roof Inspection Training

During this class, you'll expand your skills and learn how to:
inspect different types of residential roofs; identify the systems and components of roofs; understand how the components of a roof system function and perform; describe to clients the defects you observed at the roof system; and verify that the installation of the roof covering and underlayment follows common building practices or the general recommendations of most roof covering manufacturers.

Sewer Scope Inspection Training

This class is approved for state-approved continuing education hours in the following states:  IL, SD, and WA. This training qualifies for 8 InterNACHI® CE credits.

Become a Certified Sewer Scope Inspector by taking this one-day hands-on training held at the InterNACHI® House of Horrors®. You'll learn how to perform sewer scope inspections, identify and describe pipes and defects observed during the inspection, and add this ancillary inspection to your business in the most profitable way. You'll be using a few different types of sewer scopes and cameras. And you'll be inspecting various types of pipe and defects purposely installed in the pipe system at the House of Horrors®.

Advanced Well Inspection Training

Upon successful completion of the training at the House of Horrors@, the student will be able to identify the different types of wells, perform a proper water test, check the well's meter and interpret the results, understand static water testing and what it tells you about the well, report to clients defects observed in a well system during an inspection, identify health and safety hazards in the well system, and understand the importance of well water quality and safety. You will inspect a mock-up functioning well system under controlled conditions in a hands-on classroom setting.

2-Day Exterior Inspections Training

NYS-licensed home inspectors will receive 16 hours of state-approved CE (Approval # L2877-16). This training qualifies for 16 InterNACHI® CE credits.

During this class, you will learn how to inspect the exterior systems and components of a home. NYS-licensed home inspectors will receive 8 hours of state-approved CE (Approval # L2880-08). This training qualifies for 8 InterNACHI® CE credits.
