Mock Inspection Report Review for Members

If you have already performed any fee-paid home inspections, you can skip this report review.
If you have never performed any fee-paid home inspections, you must submit four written reports from mock (or simulated) home inspections to InterNACHI's Report Review Committee. This is a free membership benefit. And this is certification requirement Step #5 for members who have never performed a fee-paid home inspection.

  • Step #1: Perform four mock (or simulated) home inspections according to InterNACHI's Standards of Practice. A mock inspection is performed according to the Standards of Practice for Performing a General Home Inspection and for no fee. It's not a fee-paid home inspection. It's simulated. The inspection could be performed on your own home, a friend's home, a family member's home, another inspector's home, etc. We estimate eight hours of work for performing one simulated inspection along with writing an inspection report.
  • Step #2: Write a home inspection report based upon each mock inspection. You may use software, the InterNACHI Inspection Checklist (see below), or your own checklist. The reports must be written in English.
  • Step #3: Email four reports in PDF format to You must include your InterNACHI membership ID # in the email. Forgotten it?
