INACHI Inspector Member Of The Year
I. Purpose/Scope of the program
The InterNACHI® Inspector Member of the Year program honors an InterNACHI® member for their contributions to the inspection profession, InterNACHI, and the general public.
II. Eligibility for Nomination
Any active Inspector member in good standing is eligible for this award.
This award includes all Inspector Members and not just Home Inspectors.
The accomplishments/actions of the individual being nominated are not required to have occurred during the year this award is being judged.
The Nominees accomplishments will clearly demonstrate their actions above and beyond any normal activity by Members.
III. Nomination process
Anyone inside or outside of the INACHI Association is free to submit nominations for this award.
Nominations must include substantial supporting documentation demonstrating the nominee’s qualifications and contributions. If the documentation is deemed insufficient the Awards Committee may request additional information, verification, or clarification. If requirements are not met, nominations may be rejected outright.
Awards nominations will contain the following.
A description of why the nominator feels the Inspector qualifies for this award.
Additional documentation as needed will be attached to the email.
All claims within the nomination must contain verifiable sources which can include the following.
WEB links to sources describing the claim.
Contact information for individuals and other organizations that can verify the claim if no WEB links are available. This contact information will include names, email addresses, and telephone numbers for the individual or organization.
All nominations will be submitted to the Awards Committee general email address [email protected] .
IV. Verification of the nomination information
The Awards Committee will utilize the information provided by the Nominator to verify any accomplishments claimed. This verification process may include contacting persons whose names were provided by the Nominator. Prior to contacting anyone for verification the Nominee will be notified this will be performed and their approval to do so will be obtained in writing (emails are acceptable for this). If approval is not provided by the Nominee then any claims requiring contacting others will be disregarded during the selection process.
All contacts and their results will be provided to the Awards Committee. Verbal contacts will be summarized and placed with the nomination package. All emails or other contact methods will be saved and placed with the nomination package. Once verifications are completed the entire nomination package will be uploaded on the Member of the Year thread for use by the Awards Committee and for records retention purposes.
V. Selection and voting process
The InterNACHI® Awards Committee is solely responsible for the evaluation and selection process. The Awards Committee will vote and select the Member of the Year. Their decisions regarding the issuance of this and any other awards offered are final. All Nominees packages will be reviewed by every Committee Member and a vote will be called to select the Member Of The Year. All verification, reviews, and deliberations by the Committee will be finished by the first week of December and a vote called by the second week of December.
The following are some but not all possible criteria for judging this award.
A display of enhanced service and quality to the consumer for their inspection services.
A display of actions to further enhance the image of the Inspection industry.
Providing guidance and support to other Inspectors.
Contributions to the INACHI organization.
General support and contributions to the general public with regards to the inspection industry.
If an individual can not be found and voted on by 20 December then there will be no Member of the Year for that year.
VI. Award to be provided and notification to the General Membership
The Committee will identify the physical award to be provided to the Member of the Year winner. This may be a plaque, trophy, or other item. INACHI Headquarters Staff will be advised of the item selected and arrangements made with Headquarters Staff to obtain, pay for, and distribute the item to the winner of the award.
The name of the MOY winner will also be provided to INACHI Headquarters to enable the winner to obtain their free life time INACHI membership.
Once the winner has been chosen a post will also be made on the INACHI Bulletin Board advising the General Membership of the winner. A summary of the Nominator(s) statement(s) will be created by the Committee and posted with the announcement. No other supporting document will be added to it.
Prior to posting the winner's name all other Nominees that were considered will be contacted to obtain their approval to post their names as well. Approval will be by written form (emails are acceptable for this). Only the names will be posted and not the nomination wording or supporting documents.
