Texas Home Inspector Continuing Education
InterNACHI® is approved to provide continuing education to home inspectors in the state of Texas, per Provider Approval Number 10026. Members can find all Texas-approved education by visiting our course catalog.
How to Find TREC-Approved CE Courses
Once you are on the education catalog page, select the state of Texas in the "Filter by Approvals" section. The list will populate on the right side, displaying the titles of the TREC-approved courses and the number of CE credits each course is approved for.
Each Texas-approved course will display with the state-issued approval number and the number of continuing education hours it's worth. See the image below for an example.
How to Complete TREC-Approved CE Courses
In order to successfully complete continuing education and have your credits reported to TREC, make sure your home inspector license number is accurately entered in your dashboard. You can edit your license number(s) at the "Licensing" section of your dashboard. At the beginning of a new course, you will have the opportunity to confirm your license number.
Every TREC-approved course has a minimum amount of time that you must spend on the course's content in order to be eligible for CE credits. If you progress through the course without meeting this "seat time" requirement, the learning management system will remind you that you need to go back and spend more time on the course before taking the final exam. While it's possible to skip the seat time requirement, doing so will result in ZERO credit hours. InterNACHI® recommends that all its Texas members make sure that they have completed the required seat time before proceeding to the final exam.
To obtain CE credit for a course that you completed in a previous license renewal cycle, you must reset the course and start from the very beginning.
If your license number has been accurately entered, you have fulfilled the seat time requirement, and you have passed the final exam for a course, InterNACHI's Education Staff will be notified and will upload your credits to the state within seven business days. We encourage you to directly confirm that your credits have been received by the state on TREC's website using their "License Holder Search" at least seven business days after completing a course. If you don't see your expected credits seven business days after completing a course, please email education@internachi.org with the title of the course and the date you completed it.
