Initial 90 Hours of Training

InterNACHI's free, online 90-hour pre-licensing training course is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Home Inspectors. InterNACHI® is listed on the Louisiana website as an education provider of a free, online pre-licensing course and free, online Continuing Education. 

In-Field Training

In addition to the 90-hour free, online pre-licensing course (see above), you must complete 30 hours of pre-licensing platform training, as well as ten (10) live inspections with an approved in-field trainer. For a list of trainers, visit the state website.

Report Writing Seminar

You must also attend a report writing seminar and Standards of Practice review. Please contact the state to schedule. 

Insurance

You must also have home inspector insurance. Please visit www.nachi.org/insurance for discounted insurance for InterNACHI® members.

Radon Tester Certification 

   
Although there are no Louisiana state regulations for naturally occurring radon, the state refers the public to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines on radon and indoor air quality. Visit the Louisiana website for details.
 
NRPP:
InterNACHI's free, online "Radon Measurement Professional Initial Training Course" is AARST-NRPP approved for both initial certification and Continuing Education. To complete all components of the NRPP Radon Certification, please visit their site for more information.  
 
NRSB:
InterNACHI's free, online Radon Measurement Professional Initial Training Course is NRSB-approved for initial certification. For those looking for NRSB continuing education, members should take the free, online "Advanced Radon Measurement Service Provider" course.

 
 


 

Wood Destroying Organisms


 
Per Louisiana "Title 7 AGRICULTURE AND ANIMALS Part XXV. Structural Pest Control, Chapter 1 Structural Pest Control Commission" §121-
 
A wood destroying insect report shall be issued by a person who is licensed by the commission in termite control or a certified WDIR technician who is working under the supervision of a person who is licensed by the commission in termite control. InterNACHI's Wood-Destroying Organism Inspection course is currently not approved with the state of Louisiana.

Please refer to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry website for more details. InterNACHI's Wood-Destroying Organisms (WDO) Inspection Course may be a beneficial education tool for those looking to become licensed.
