As of March 2020, home inspectors in New Mexico can inspect residential and commercial properties without a license. On April 4, 2019, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed House Bill 433 to establish a home inspection licensing law in the state of New Mexico. It is likely that the license requirement will continue to be pushed back until the home inspectors board has worked out all of the details. The New Mexico Home Inspector Licensing Board will not be fully operational until the first quarter of 2020. Our Education Team will continue to stay on top of this as we have seen this trend happen time and time again with other newly formed home inspection licensing boards in the past.
