To Renew Your Home Inspector License

Licensed home inspectors in Indiana are required to complete Continuing Education in each renewal period. InterNACHI® is approved by Indiana to provide free, online Continuing Education courses to licensed home inspectors. The courses are online and free for members. Not a member? Join InterNACHI®. 

32 hours are required for each renewal cycle that is more than 24 months. For inspectors who have had their license for more than 12 months but less than 24, 16 hours of CE are required. For inspectors who have had their license for less than 12 months, no CE is required. 
 
Category I is defined as continuing education that is formal programming, which includes instruction in one of the following areas (all of which can be covered by the online courses listed at www.nachi.org/education).

Radon Tester Certification in Indiana (free & online for members)


The Indiana State Department of Health requires an individual, prior to obtaining an Indiana Radon Professional license, to take certification training approved by NRPP or NRSB.  Visit the Indiana website for details.

Wood Destroying Organisms (free & online for members)

 The Office of Indiana State Chemist requires that inspections for wood-destroying organisms be conducted by a certified professional. For more information on becoming certified as a WDI inspector, visit the State Chemist's website.
InterNACHI's Wood Destroying Organism Inspection Course is approved for 5 Continuing Credit Hours for the WDI inspector license.

How to Join InterNACHI 

 



 As of July 1, 2006 the following entities are automatically approved as continuing education providers and are no longer required to notify the Commission for course approval.  Therefore, their actual name may not appear on this website.  However you can use this list as a guide:
  1. A national organization of practitioners whose members practicing in Indiana are subject to regulation by a board or agency regulating a profession or occupation under this title or IC 15.  This includes, but is not limited to: (National, State, regional, local, or county real estate associations, NAR, IAR, CRS, GRI, MIBOR, GNIAR,  SIBOR, FWAAR, NEIAOR, RACI, SIRA.
  2. United States Department of Education.
  3. Council on Post-Secondary Education.
  4. Federal, state, and local government agencies.
  5. A college or other teaching institution accredited by the United States Department of Education or the Council on Post-Secondary Education
  6. A national, state, district, or local organization that operates as an affiliated entity under the approval of an organization.
  7. Any other organization or individual approved by the board.
