    California Legislative Information

    InterNACHI’s 2020 Professional Inspectors Convention

    InterNACHI’s 2020 Professional Inspectors Convention will be held on October 15-17, 2020, in Southern California at the Ontario Convention Center (just outside of Los Angeles).  


    Continuing Education (online & free for members)

    InterNACHI-Certified Home Inspectors are required to complete twenty-four (24) hours of Continuing Education every year to renew their certification. Review InterNACHI's Continuing Education Policy.

    Hands-On Training at House of Horrors® 

    Experience world-class inspection training and InterNACHI® member events at our House of Horrors® locations in Colorado and Florida.  The InterNACHI® House of Horrors® is an entire house with 1,000 defects built under our roof.  Register for a free event, take training, test-drive inspection tools, attend an inspector chapter meeting, and inspect the House of Horrors®.

    Insurance for Inspectors​

    Although California doesn’t have requirements regarding insurance for home inspectors, many local real estate boards and home inspector business franchises require their affiliate members to meet certain coverage standards. InterNACHI members are eligible for discounts and enhanced coverage. Visit for information on how to sign up.

    California Association of REALTORS® Confirms No Preference for Any Inspection Association

    The California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) has clarified its position that it does not endorse any specific inspection association. When marketing your services to Realtors®, you should also tell them about InterNACHI’s free Negligent-Referral Protection for real estate agents.  

    Real Estate Cards (free for members)

    The cards provide simple instructions for real estate agents on how to take free, online Continuing Education courses to help renew their license. 
    Licensed real estate agents can attain free, online Continuing Education by taking InterNACHI's courses for agents. When an agent enters the InterNACHI member's ID #, the member is automatically notified by email, and the first slide of the course contains the member's contact information.

    California Radon Certification & CE (online & free for members):

    According to California regulations, no person may provide radon services for the general public, or represent or advertise that he or she may provide radon services unless that person successfully completes a National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) or National Radon Safety Board (NRSB) certification program. And, persons certified to provide radon services shall complete a National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) certification program every two years after initial certification.     InterNACHI's free, online "Advanced Radon Measurement Service Provide Course" is AARST-NRPP approved for both initial certification and Continuing Education. To complete all components of the NRPP Radon Certification, please visit their site for more information.

    InterNACHI's free, online "Advanced Radon Measurement Service Provider" course is approved by NRPP for both Entry Certification Level and Continuing Education, and by NRSB for Continuing Educatio. This coures is online and free for members.

    Wood-Destroying Organism Inspection (free and online):

    The California Department of Pesticide Regulation requires that inspectors be licensed by the state for pest inspections. InterNACHI's Wood Destroying Organism Inspection Course is approved for continuing education credit.

    California Pool Inspection Checklist


    Home Energy Inspector Certification (online & free)

    Become a Certified Home Energy Inspector. The online training and certification is free for members. No infrared, no blower door, and no additional training needed.

    Roof Data Technician (free for members to participate)

    The Roof Data Technician Program, developed by InterNACHI and Owens Corning and Lowe's, provides an additional revenue stream for InterNACHI members who are hired by Owens Corning as part of a roof warranty claim resolution process. (This program is operational in the United States only.) Participate in the InterNACHI/Owens Corning Roof Data Technician Program.

    Business & Marketing (online & free for members)


    InterNACHI's Member Marketing Team will design a new logo for your inspection business or re-design your existing logo, and design and customize your business cards, flyers and brochures.     Homeowner Newsletter (online & free for members)

    Keep in touch with all of your clients! The InterNACHI Homeowner Newsletter is: 
    • free to members;
